How it heals

In Chinese Medicine, Szechuan Lovage Root invigorates blood, moves qi, and dispels wind to calm and relieve pain.

In Western medicine, Szechuan Lovage Root reduces blood clotting and dilates blood vessels to increase blood flow to the heart and brain.

Fun fact: Szechuan Lovage Root is a flowering plant in the carrot family and is one of the most popular medicinal herbs in China and Korea, where it grows wild and has been cultivated for centuries.

How we use it

“In Chinese medicine, when we use herbs to generate new blood, we always use herbs that move the blood in order to prevent cloying and sticking. This is one of my favorite herbs to use in this manner.”
